Frequently asked questions

Can I add a personal message to cards?

Yes you can! Just let me know when ordering and I am happy to add a personal message inside your card, and I can send it directly to the recipient if you would like me to.

Do you accept commissions?

Yes I do, please get in touch and we can have a chat about it.

Can I request a print in a different colour from those listed?

Certainly! I am happy to consider requests for personalisation of pieces, whether it be different colours or papers. Please just get in touch with me to discuss.

What is your environmental policy?

I am very conscious of my impact on the environment, both in my work and my personal life.
I use traditional lino, which is 100% natural, and I compost any off-cuts and waste carvings. I also compost any waste paper or mis-prints.
I use non-toxic printing inks that are linseed oil based but which clean up with water, without the need for harsh chemicals.
The majority of my intaglio plates are taken from used tetrapak cartons, which are then recycled after being used for printing.
I use no plastic in my packaging, instead using tissue paper, cardboard and paper tape.

What does "open edition" and "limited edition" mean?

"Limited edition" means that only a certain number of prints have been created from a lino or intaglio plate. Once the whole edition has been printed, the plate is destroyed & no more prints are produced. Prints like this will be numbered to show the edition size & which number that particular print is - e.g. 1/20, 2/20, 3/20...

A varied limited edition is similar but with variations in the prints within the edition - different colours or papers, perhaps. They are still limited in number but will have "VE" next to the edition number.

"Open edition" means that the print run is not limited at the outset, and prints can continue to be produced until the plate is no longer useable. These are labelled "OE", or "OEV" for a varied open edition.
